5 Easy Ways To Make Yourself Feel Better
We’ve all been there, long night of feeds, nappy changing and crying. To find yourself getting up the next morning and having to face the day can be terribly daunting if you aren’t feeling your best. Whether it’s heading off to work or spending the day with your little ones these tips will giving you that little helping hand and start your day right.
1. Lemon Water
Reaching for a large cup of coffee will be tempting, but instead try some warm water and lemon instead. This citrusy brew will kick start your metabolism, give your skin and body a cleanse. The energy boost you’ll also get will last longer and is considerably more beneficial for you than a sugary coffee or tea. Keep it up for the rest of the day if you can also!
2. Ice Cubes
Personally my face gets very puffy when I haven’t had enough sleep. So I’m a fan of this trick, head to the freezer and grab a couple of ice cubes. Once in the bathroom over the sink rub the ice cubes over your cheeks, forehead and around the eye area. Sounds ridiculous and you may look a little silly, but this frosty hack will diminish all that puffiness away and shrink your pores to a smaller size prepping your face for your skincare routine.
3. Limit Your Make-Up
The temptation to apply full coverage foundation and concealer may be overwhelming, yet it can work against you, especially on days sleep has escaped you! Instead lighten the coverage to a BB Cream with a glowing finish. This will give you a fresh faced look, and to make you appear more awake you can conceal a little under your eyes, couple of coats of mascara and apply a dusting of pink blush on the balls of your cheeks for a bright, rested look! Trust me you’ll look lovely!
4. Avoid The Mum Bun
I am a huge fan of the messy top knot, but I always feel a little…. well, messy. If you feel the same way why not try parting your hair in a middle parting and pull it all back in a neat, low bun. This look is just as quick as the trusted mum bun, but will help you look more put together and neat. The perfect look for days you don’t have the time, but still want to look like you’ve made an effort.
5. Apply Your Scent
Estee Lauder once said “Perfume is like a new dress, it makes you quite simply marvellous” Finishing off your look with perfume is the quickest and easiest way to give you that final pick me up and have you ready to seize the day!
