Ammonite Accounts offers a bookkeeping and accounts service tailored specifically for enterprising mums and women. As a mum herself Claire knows how much juggling is involved in raising kids AND running a small business. Who wants to spend those magic hours at the end of the day (after bedtime!) trailing through invoices and receipts, checking bank records, entering information on a spreadsheet or software (thanks Making Tax Digital…) and THEN trying to bring it all together and remember everything for tax returns every year.

Just hand the bookkeeping over to Claire at Ammonite. She can get all your accounts set up and maintained, as well as providing management reports and getting you set up with cloud accounting software that makes your financial information available anywhere. Just take a photo of a receipt with the app on your phone – and it would be sent to Claire instantly and entered into your records.

If you already use an accountant, you may also want to consider my bookkeeping services. Accountants who handle the bookkeeping in-house often charge accountants’ fees for this. You could save quite a bit of money by having me do all your bookkeeping up to trial balance, which they then hand over to your accountant for any statutory financial statements they need to produce.

Ammonite don’t place their clients on pre-produced packages. Every business is different, and they recognise that by tailor-building each business’s services around what they NEED and WANT. After your free consultation, they will simply send you a set of options based on what you have told them about your business and then YOU decide what services and price suits you best.

“AEM has a fresh approach to all things accountancy, whereby we build ongoing relationships with you and your business.

As mummies ourselves, we are heavily involved all things mummy and female.  Our director is on the steering group of the local Women in Business networking group, involved with a Business Mum’s Facebook page contributing as an expert and really helping boost these mummies into success, by being supportive and encouraging.  Further, she volunteers her time to help the local school as a mentor to pupils undertaking Young Enterprise business challenge and supports the local schools, college & university with work experience programs.

In addition to traditional services, we also provide advice on how to improve and develop your business. We are here to help you achieve your personal and business goals. We have a firm belief that meeting just once a year is a thing of the past and strive to build an active, valuable business relationship by investing our time in getting to know you and your business. We want to know all about your personal and business goals to allow us to support you in achieving everything you set out.

As such, we have partnered with various cloud accounting packages and other pro-active software providers, which allow us to provide you with the best software and the most stress free way of keeping your books, with the added benefit of being able to access them anywhere at a fantastic price!

Our philosophy is based on providing the best possible service through all our work engagements. We find that working on a fixed fee basis, set for a number of years is the most transparent fee structure, which also gives our clients’ peace of mind. We encourage our clients to take advantage of our monthly payment option to allow you to plan and spread the cost.  We feel that this allows us to service our clients in the best possible way, with clients speaking with us regularly, without fear of an additional fee, which in turn has allowed us to plan a way forward together. We are miles apart from other traditional accountants. Make an appointment and find out for yourself how we can really make a difference to you and your business.”

“MMB picks up the mantel for the modern working mother, whoever you are, whatever you do. We have everything you need in one place – our unique online community. From inspirational women who tell it how it is, to the inside track from leaders at the top of their field. MMB gives you the confidence to know you’ve got this. Join the revolution.”

“We are the modern working mothers magazine supporting savvy, intelligent working mothers throughout their working life. We launched late 2015 and well we have hit the ground running! To achieve our mission statement, we work with some fantastic bloggers, who bring you specialist advice on a daily basis.  An aim very close to mine and our bloggers’ hearts, which is to champion the flexible working role in the business environment for working parents. Both for career progression but also to offer the financial support needed for working mothers who are at the mid to senior level in their careers. Have you searched part time roles over 30k on the job boards?

Returning to work after children doesn’t take away the skills, ambition and talent women had prior, so why should your ambition, career growth and goals have to change because of flexible or part-time working?  It’s a sad fact until we have more flexible working roles in the business market we won’t see a change in the statistics on women in senior positions or at boardroom level.  This is most definitely a modern family issue.

We hold a number of events throughout the year for working mothers including the launch of MMB Board in 2017 for female business owners in Yorkshire and our MMB Back to Work Club helping mothers to return back to the workplace and build their business network with like-minded women.  This year has also seen the launch of our #YorkshireFlex campaign promoting the benefit and successes of Flexible Working.”

“An Australian with a fascination for British culture and an obsession with Britpop I moved to the UK in 2006 and made Edinburgh my home. I had previously worked as a reviewer for small independent businesses and event organiser for a website alongside my day job.   But it was maternity leave that gave me the push I needed to build on these skills and after training with Digital Mums, Wee Bit Social was born in August 2016.

I decided when setting up Wee Bit Social that I wanted to focus solely on the social aspect of digital marketing. It’s a huge part of marketing that a lot of companies completely overlook and simply slot an intern in, thinking it’s a bit of faffing about on Facebook. When there are so many benefits to really utilising your social media channels, especially for small business who don’t have a huge glossy advertising budget. This is why I wanted to really focus in on this area and help small businesses, like my own to get their brand out there and get people talking about them. Social Media is the place to find great new places and talented people creating bespoke products.  How many times have you found a cool new coffee place or a gorgeous kidswear brand because you came across it on Instagram or recommended by a friend of a friend on Facebook?

Wee Bit Social is based in Edinburgh – the name kinda gives it away huh? But thanks to the power of Skype my clients have been as far flung as London and I am currently speaking with a small business in Australia. Wee Bit Social understands there isn’t a lot of time when you run your own business to deal with everything and that you may not have a huge budget to outsource everything. So we offer a 5 month kickstarter package, alongside longer, ongoing social management packages and bespoke business training, so that business owners can learn the tips and tricks to effectively run their own channels.

Social media for business doesn’t have to be overwhelming, it’s a way to advertise your brand and connect with customers. Wee Bit Social offers a completely personal service with fortnightly meetings, a structured strategy and campaign centered around your business goals and plans, as well as tips and tricks for you as a business owner, a monthly report is also included in the package. We recognise that each business is totally different and so we create a price plan and structure that fits you and allows you to get on with the day to day running of your business.”

Foxstar Photography is a creative service started by Surrey single mother Bonnie Nash. A business that was born out of Bonnie’s varied career experience in fashion retail, styling and marketing. Alongside her passion for photography, each element of experience has come together to create a one stop service that offers parent business owners in the gift, home, fashion and food sectors, styled product images to enhance sales and brand identity. Styling products using fun creative props, backgrounds and lifestyle scenarios, Bonnie’s creative ideas come to life in photographs, giving her clients visual tools to use on a variety of different digital platforms.

Bonnie recognised a need in the market for creative eye catching product images following the explosion of Instagram and the endless potential this platform has to increase sales and brand awareness for independent online businesses. The visual image is now more critical than ever, as more and more consumers shop via the internet social media site. That, coupled with the importance of time for parent business owners, or lack of it to devote to creating their own visual content, Bonnie is passionate about helping these businesses showcase their products by using her creative styled photography to maximise their visual presence online, help increase sales and build on their visual brand.

Bonnie works closely with each client discussing their target customer, getting a feel for their brand style and the products they wish to showcase, then creates an image, or series of images that will appeal to their online community. Most of her work can be done remotely, offering her clients a cost effective, time and stress free way of using her services, making them accessible for all.

Various clients include gift businesses Bombay Duck and fellow Mama Tribe member Gift Pop Boutique.
