But what is your vibe, why do you need a tribe and who are you trying to attract.

Firstly, what exactly is a tribe?

The very definition of tribe, according to the dictionary, is: a social division in a traditional Society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader.

Mama Tribe is a community of biz mums or Women in business and we are linked by our gender, our social position, our culture.

Our vibe is reflected in our common dialect. We speak the same language, we share the same beliefs, we have similar lifestyles or ambitions.

Growing your social following, attracting your tribe are important aspects of building a successful business. The social following that you create are your online tribe, and will become your loyal community.

You want your tribe to be the people that support your message, that look to you for inspiration or answers.

This can be applied to any business type, it is at the core of how we make connections, form relationships, choose who to associate with. You could be selling any product or service but the people you are trying to attract, are your ideal customers, or ideal clients and they are ultimately the people you need to connect with.

So here are 7 tips to help you grow your social following:

  1. Learn from who you admire

Study successful profiles and be inspired by them. Get to know how they engage with their followers. How they attract their audience. Look at successful social media accounts across different genres to see what makes each unique. Be inspired by their style and structure.

  1. Speak from the heart

Find your own message: make sure it sounds clear and coherent. Plan ahead to see how your social media profile will look. Collect ideas and write them down. Brainstorm what it is you want to say and the different ways in which you can get your message across.

  1. Be consistent

Your followers need to see that you are present. Consistency is key and repetition is required to sell your product/service, but in a creative way to keep your followers engaged.

  1. Value the attention of your audience

Post when you have something relevant to say. Do not post just for the sake of posting. Consider what you want to say and what you want to share, always keeping in mind that your audience are looking to you for engaging content, connection, inspiration or answers. They will unfollow or not engage if you bore them or waste their time, much like a normal conversation.

  1. Be generous

As in the real world: when you give, life gives you back. Find and follow the type of people you want to connect with. Don’t wait for them to find you. Always support others with likes, comments, shout-outs, shares, and tags and always reply to comments left by your followers.

  1. Be easy to find

Hashtags are key to reaching more people and to finding those whom you are more in sync with. Use them generously and take advantage of trends to reach more people.

  1. Be genuine

Social media is a way to express who you are and what you do. The more genuine you can be, the truer the relationship with your followers will become, and these people will become your tribe. What you emanate with your posts and social media presence will be received and will reflect back to you like a mirror. This relationship does not happen overnight nor does it take place if you feel forced to be on social media, so look for that joy that inspires you to post.

Through consistency and genuine connection you will grow your social following.
