Natalie Upton

Hi Natalie,

Tell us about the Services you offer?

We provide Mummy retreats, managed by Mummy’s and run by Mummy’s with everything Mummy covered at an affordable price for the family.

Join one of our day or weekend retreats filled with coaching, core fitness (so you don’t sneezepee yourself in public), digital detox, family nutrition advice, wellness coaching, start up business support, childcare and beauty treatments to be the best possible YOU. Goodie bags and bubbles included also!

How did you come up with the idea and what motivated you to go for it?

When chatting with Mummy friends over the last 7 months whilst on maternity leave, I realised we all share similar needs, concerns and aspirations! Whether it was a topic about family nutrition, returning back to work fears, children’s sleep routines or our new found wobbly bits & ME time!

We were all on different journeys, returning back to work, choosing to be a stay at home Mummy or launching new family-friendly businesses but we shared similar concerns, guilts and needs. So I have decided to do the latter – launch a new business with the clear intent of women not feeling guilty for the little luxuries in life, ensuring they are their very best self at home just as they brought their very best self to work and supporting them as they seek the very best life for their family.

What do you love about running your own business and what do you find hard?

I love meeting new inspiring people everyday, our retreats attract some really interesting Mummy’s and the friendships I have made will be with me forever. I also love the buzz, the challenge of building something from scratch. I find the future daunting at times, starting your own business is unpredictable you cant forecast success – its scary but its that fear that keeps you motivated!

What kind of Boss Mum are you and how do you manage the juggle?

Mix of winging it and organisation. I have daily core activities like cooking the family breakfast and exercise, even a stretch or 10 mins walk up a hill with the pram! But I love being spontaneous – its the spice of life!

What surprising lessons have you learned along the way?

People perceive that success was made over night! On the way up they ask you why you are doing it and when you get there, people will ask you how you did it!! I am still working on the when right now!

What is a normal day in your life like?

Shower, cook family breakfast, play time, work, walk, work, lunch, toning/yoga, playtime, snack, prepare the family meal, bath time, bottle – BED!

What has been a particular highlight for you since starting your business?

MammerTime is still in its infancy, we have a long way to go and I don’t believe we have any highlights just yet to be really really proud of. However, I would say that the support from Mummies and the abilities for Mummy’s to create impact has astounded me. Go Mummies!

What’s next for your business?

Launching our first day retreat in Newbury – it’s so exciting and we have an AWESOME line up!

What advice would you give someone who was thinking about setting up their own business?
