Tell us about your business and the type of products you sell.
Thanks for stopping by to read about reactive creative.
reactive creative is all about producing motion graphics for social media posts and providing them at affordable prices. All images are either an mp4 or gif and are suitable for posts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
The business is in its infancy stages – yep another business born out of Covid-19 but hey, I read somewhere that great things have come out of other pandemics so let’s see what happens!
At present, I’m busy working up images and, in the not so far future, there will be a subscription library site selling motion graphics just for social media posts!
Amazing right? Let me tell you a bit more…
As a customer, you will have to opportunity to either purchase images on a one-off basis or sign up to one of the subscription plans. Images are JUST £5 EACH and can be supplied as either a 1080x1080 mp4 (for Instagram posts) or as a 1200x630 mp4/gif (for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter posts).
I have a few on sale on MamaTribe and Instagram at the moment and have included some on this post.
The business is split into two parts offering something for everyone’s budget.
The reactive side of the business allows businesses to ‘buy off the shelf’ – choosing to purchase an image/format on a one-off basis or subscribe to a monthly plan in which they either get a discount or free images. Monthly plans start at £17 for four images/formats.
The creative side of the business will works in a similar way with the addition of customisation of the images already on the site, with a client’s logo/font/colours. There’s a £5 one-off set up fee for your branding and then any image customised is £9. Monthly plans start at £30 for four images/formats.
Bespoke graphics can be produced and would be quoted individually. Want to know more? Let’s talk – get in touch to find out more.
How did you come up with the idea and what motivated you to go for it?
I have a background in graphic design and recently started to play around with producing motion graphics. I’ve always worked in marketing so had an understanding of how important engagement is, especially now on social media.
Animated posts are more engaging than static posts but there wasn’t anywhere that actually sold images specifically for social media posts. I started to produce some animated posts for a company I was working with and realised that there’s a gap in the market for this.
Small companies or even social media companies have a huge task on their hands to constantly come up with engaging post ideas but then also source the imagery! Now, they could go to an agency to get the images done but that could also mean spending a lot of money. They could also use some of the amazing apps out there but they also take up a lot of time – well especially if you’re like me and like to tweak everything a million times!!
This is where reactive creative would come in by providing ready-made images that all you’d need to do is post.
What do you love about running your own business and what do you find hard?
I love the flexibility of when I can work. I have an 18-month-old son – so being flexible is pretty important at the moment. What’s hard is actually getting things done with an 18-month-old!
What kind of BossMum are you and how do you manage the juggle?
I am a schedule and spreadsheet junkie! (My poor son!) At present, I’m winging it just to try and get things done around my son but look forward to the day when things are more structured again!
Do you have a favourite app or work tool you think everyone should know about?
At the moment I’d have to say latelysocial.com. I’ve used Hootsuite before but don’t have the budget for it – this is affordable and there’s also a free version! They also have an affiliate scheme.. check it out here: https://latelysocial.com/?via=charlene
How do you define success?
Earning money by doing what I like and having an amazing work-life balance!
What is a normal day in your life like?
At the moment it’s a bit ad hoc – grabbing as much time as I can while my son is distracted.
What’s next for your business?
Launching the website
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Take a deep breathe and take a moment to reflect
What advice would you give someone who was thinking about setting up their own business?
