A letter to myself – You’re more than endometriosis.
Do you know how much you’re appreciated, loved, cared for and worshipped by your beautiful family?
You probably don’t because there’s some days all you see is your reflection in the mirror, you cry, you’re unhappy and you don’t see what we all see.
You’re too hard on yourself and you always put yourself down, self sabotage, make fat jokes and feel you’re not worth it.
So let’s just take a moment…
…because this needs to change. You need to listen to that inner voice that, on the good days shines through so bright everyone can see the real you. The happy & caring you, the lady who has been through a mountain of troubles to be where she is today and yet……
I bet you don’t thank yourself for being so strong and amazing?
You give yourself the self care you need at that time
Every day is different but you need to stop and re group with that inner sparkle you have on them good days.
I know it’s hard and I know you don’t always like what you see, not many do. However there’s one thing that stands out and that’s what your body has been through, so give it some credit and give yourself that credit too.
You’ve had endometriosis since 2012, 7 laparoscopic operations to remove cysts, move organs around, burn endometrial tissue and have implants placed inside you to allow your body to rest, in order to be able to have a child.
You may cry at your body, pull at your scars and feel like your damaged goods but actually your one hell of a strong women who empowers so many others, guides them on their endometriosis journey and gives the best advice.
You’re always there for others but you need to be there for you too.
You may feel endometriosis took so much away from you…
…but actually it just made you the beautiful, knowledgeable, caring person you are today who is extremely strong and would do anything for anyone before yourself.
You never used to be that way, you had your fun years of partying, travelling and throwing money away left right and centre.
Oh how life changes when you have a family. For the better? Absolutely!
Cailyn has made you the most determined, head strong and better version of who you are. The fun, crazy you is most definitely still in there but making memories and having adventures as a family is what makes that smile really come out.
So Claire, be less hard on yourself and realise you’re more than Endometriosis!
